The Last Part of the Road Trip

Sorry for the delay!  It has been a busy few weeks moving to Susanville and getting settled in.  Here is an update on the last days of our road trip:

The Painted Desert and Petrified Forest was amazingly beautiful.

It was an incredible feeling to stand in the ruins of an ancient society!

Our first look at the Grand Canyon was not as amazing as we had hoped, because we were exhausted and there were so many people there.  But after we hiked into the canyon a little ways and learned interesting facts about the history and geology, we came to appreciate the experience.  The Grand Canyon was definitely one of our favorite places!  Except maybe Ozark, because he wasn't allowed to hike the trails with us :(

Our final major stop before Susanville was Vegas, but before we hit Sin City, we took a gander at the Hoover Dam- which looks just like Rivendale in Lord of the Rings.  

There are no pictures from Vegas because we were having too much fun to carry around a camera!  There were lights and lots of half dressed people- that's about all you need to know!

All in all the trip was long, but a blast.  We wouldn't have done it any other way!
